Strip Curtain Walls or strip
walls exhibit 8" , 12" and 16"
strips in most applications.
Strips can be overlapped
from 33 % all the way to 100
% . Full overlap or 100%
coverage is usually
recommended for noise
control and optimal
temperature control
whereas 33% and 50 %
overlaps are common in
dust and air containment
applications. Strip Walls
exhibit either face or header
mount hardware. Face
Mount hardware attaches to
the face of a surface
whereas header mount can
attach to the uder side of a
beam or surface.
The picture to the left exhibits a strip wall mounted
with header style hardware which was tack welded
onto the lip of an I-BEAM.
Strips are commonly shipped in a natural roll form to
prevent curling or distortions. Rolls range from 100' to
200' and are all pre-punched and perforated. As the
installer unroll the material he/she will tear the strip at
the perforation mark. The strip is pre punched with
holes for easy attachment to the hadware. Face
Plates sandwich the strips securely.
